Welcome to Journey Through 18

Journey Through 18 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to expanding access to golf for girls in the Houston community while fostering a supportive environment where participants build confidence, develop skills, and thrive both on and off the course.

We envision ourselves as a community for girls, bringing them together to learn, play golf, and find inspiration and empowerment. The organization aims to support girls in their development during adolescence as they navigate their journey through 18 holes and to the age of 18.

OUR IMPACT

OUR PROGRAMS

We support our members through year-round golf instruction, mentoring, and programs that create pathways for personal growth, leadership development, and long-term engagement in the game.

  • The LPGA*USGA Girls Golf program located at Hermann Park Golf is one of 500 Girls Golf locations that strive to prepare girls from ages 6 – 17 for a lifetime of enjoyment of the game while also inspiring them to feel confident, build positive self-esteem, and live active and healthy lives through The Five E’s of Girls Golf.

  • The BGD Empowerment Academy is an annual, one-day camp dedicated to empowering female youth by using golf as a vehicle to develop mental, physical, and emotional skills.

    Participants engage in group exercises, insightful discussions led by experts, personal journaling, and engaging interactions with skilled LPGA/PGA Professionals, college coaches, and health specialists.

  • JT18 tournaments are designed to equip our members with the essential skills and mindset necessary to excel and compete on a competitive junior golf tour.

    Throughout their round, they’ll learn how to keep track of an opponent’s score, manage their emotions, the rules of golf, and execute their shots in a fun yet competitive environment—ultimately readying them to compete on any junior golf tour.

    Beginner golfers will play 3 holes

    Intermediate golfers will play 6 holes

    Advanced golfers will play 9 holes

  • The Social Journey Summer Internship Program is a paid hybrid, entry-level opportunity for Houston-based college students pursuing degrees in marketing, communications, sports management, or business related fields.
